Artist Roster

The Spokane Arts artist roster is a searchable tool designed to showcase local creatives and connect them with community members seeking artists and makers. Browse the entire roster to discover a new favorite artist or filter by the type of work you’re seeking. You’ll find samples of their work, a description of what drives them to create and links to check out their website or social media. Use the roster to discover the incredible talent living right here in our community. Please note: the artist roster is a free resource directory to find artists. Any local artist can add their information. The artists on the roster are not endorsed or represented by Spokane Arts. 

In order to foster a thriving creative community where artists can make a living doing their work, Spokane Arts believes in the importance of paying artists. Too often, creatives are asked to provide time, labor, materials, or finished work for free. While most of us wouldn’t ask an electrician, CPA or nurse to provide their professional services at no cost — knowing they trained and studied to gain expertise — artists are often asked to donate their services. Many artists and creatives do choose to donate their time to causes they care deeply about, but to make a living, doing work for free should be the exception, not the rule. We humbly ask you to keep this in mind when contacting creatives on the roster, and know that you can always ask an artist to give you a cost estimate or written proposal to review. Questions? Trevon Walton

My name is Trevon Walton. I am an artist who has been spending my entire life finding ways to express myself and what I feel. I am a creative, finding love and passion in any and every medium that I touch, but I also find the ability to speak in a manner that can be difficult for me to do otherwise, it allows me to express myself in a raw, unfiltered manner. It also allows me to project part of me or my spirit into every thing I create, every detail of every painting, song, and body of work. My goal is to ultimately change the world, and give a platform for people like me, who may have been discouraged to be creative, and show them that being creative and expressive can ultimately heal in such a beautiful way. With these songs and these images, I tell you my story.

Jane Sutherland-Farstrider

I work with a wide variety of media and enjoy finding creative ways to combine them; translating impressions from songs and stories on paper and canvas.
Acrylics, ink, and watercolor are among my favorites.

My work has taken many directions and evolved as much as I have over the years. Some of it is serious. A lot of it is whimsical. All of it is the product of an active imagination and a love of symbolism and storytelling. I take inspiration from dreams, memories, and the places my subconscious goes when I read and listen to music.

John Sebastian

John Sebastian was born in Long Island – New York. He was raised in a family infused by generations of artists and craftsmen. Luthiers, Carpenters, Draftsman,
Engineers, and Musicians. His father played a major role is his artistic career, a Korean war veteran, studio musician (guitar being his main instrument), mathematician and metallurgist by trade. In a very large family, John grew up spending holidays first listening to his uncles and father playing classic swing music and jazz and eventually taught himself how to play guitar and joining in. John brings music to his art in all its forms,

Jessica Jasper

After earning her Master’s degree in viola performance from the University of Minnesota in 2013, Jessica Jasper has lived in her home state of Washington. Since then, she has enjoyed being a freelance violist and violinist, chamber musician and music educator. She has been a tenured violist in the Spokane Symphony Orchestra since 2012, and a tenured violist with the Northwest Sinfonietta chamber orchestra since 2013. She also recently won the position of Assistant Principal viola of Yakima Symphony orchestra.

Gem Aragon

Gem is a 26 year old nonbinary digital artist living in Spokane, WA after growing up in Colorado. They picked up art during the pandemic in 2020 and have been self-teaching ever since, with a focus on Traditional and Neotraditional tattoo-concept art. Gem aspires to be a tattoo artist someday, but enjoys practicing by creating bold, unique concepts custom designed to individual requests in the meantime. Heather Woolery

Heather Woolery is an Idaho-based multi-media storyteller exploring the dichotomy of what it means to be a woman wearing the shoes of mother and wife all while navigating the social norms and injustices in the modern world.

Finding inspiration in cinema, literature, travel, and current and historical events which you will find echoes of throughout her work. All while playing with and manipulating various materials.

Heather is a 2015 BFA graduate of the University of Idaho and is a working photographer, artist, and author. She also teaches children’s art classes at the Moscow Contemporary.

Moeckel Studio

Contemporary portrait painters, Sonny and Lisa Moeckel, excel in the use of minimal color configurations and the art of transforming portraits into abstract realism paintings. Their unique collaborations evoke the mysterious and expressive nature of the human figure. Lisa has focused mainly on realistic portraiture, while Sonny’s artistic style is more abstract. She has expanded into oil painting in collaborations with Sonny. Born and raised on the reservation, Sonny (Jicarilla Apache and Navajo), had his first painting featured in The Heard Art Museum at age 13. Sonny has excelled in many different forms of art. They both attended Whitworth University. Since meeting his wife, Lisa, eight years ago, they have been collaborating on oil paintings, combining their realistic and abstract styles. They have been featured in many art shows, publications, and received awards together.
