Round 1 Grantees
The Spokane Arts Grant Awards (SAGA) has awarded its largest amount ever in support of seven proposals through a competitive process from a pool of thirty qualifying applications. Grant winners will carry out arts projects and programs that will take place in the Spokane region over the next twelve months. The seven successful applicants received a total of $42,710 for organizational support, film, visual arts, community art, education, and theater. While some did not need modifications, most of this year’s grantees have made changes to their original plans to safely handle issues arising from coronavirus.
With coronavirus issues afoot, SAGA will be releasing an additional $25,000 for distribution in its second round of funding for 2020. This will mean a combined total of at least $66,667 available to artists, arts programming, and arts organizations for applications received by our June 1 deadline. SAGA is especially encouraging proposals seeking operational support to get through these difficult times.
