SAGA support will help continue the legacy of this local, two-day festival as it prepares for its third year, this year featuring headliner Buffy Sainte-Marie.

The mission of One Heart Native Arts & Film Festival is to share and showcase innovative, compelling, and empowering stories from Native perspectives through film, art, and music, celebrating the diversity and vitality of contemporary Native culture in our community today. On Friday, October 19th, 2018 at the Bing Crosby Theatre in Spokane, Buffy Sainte-Marie will headline the One Heart Annual Festival with a 75 min set of her most classic songs, as well as songs from her recently released album.

Sainte-Marie’s performance will kickstart the One Heart Native Arts and Film Festival’s theme “Honoring Our Women.” A major goal of the festival is to bring to attention the horrific issue of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls (MMIWG), while also reaching out to the greater Spokane population with a rich presentation of Indigenous arts and culture.

The 2018 Festival will include exhibitions, performances, discussions, and artistic workshops with prominent painter, J. Nicole Hatfield.
