Grantee: Stage Left Theater

With SAGA support, Stage Left Theater produced its first musical: The Threepenny Opera. This production involved 21 actors, nine directors, designers, and operators, and was enjoyed by more than 1,000 patrons. The community theater personnel not only learned to work in an intimate space as a collaborative team to reach a final result, but they were part of creating a production that encourages conversations which run deeper than mere entertainment. With the message of this production, Stage Left Theater hopes Spokane will think about the consequences of decisions and how words and actions can inadvertently affect the emotional, spiritual, physical, or economic life of another. Threepenny Opera was presented nine performances from May 24, 2019 through June 9, 2019 at Stage Left Theater.
