Opportunity: OPEN SUBMISSION: Creative Storytelling from Youth and Young Adult Asians

Aritistic Discipline: Cultural
šŸ””Ā Submission Deadline Extended to March 15, 2024Ā forĀ We Are Made of StoriesĀ exhibitĀ ā€¼ļø
šŸ“£Ā Calling all Asian and Asian American young artists! You have two more weeks to submit your art and story and be part of our month-long exhibit for Asian American Heritage Month!
šŸŽØĀ Art is a powerful way to tell stories. We are encouraging young artists (recommended age 15-25) to share intergenerational stories through art. These can be tales from their own experiences, of their elders, or of other members in our Asian/Asian American community. Maybe it is a story about a grandmotherā€™s immigration, an uncle opening a business, or an auntieā€™s journey as an adoptive mother. Woven together, these narratives of achievements, struggles, mental health, and life journeys make our community bond stronger.
Submissions may include 2D, 3D, or performance/time-based medium. Selected pieces will be on display at the Spokane Public Library (Central) for Asian American Heritage Month in May 2024.
Qualifying submissions received on time will also receive a $10 gift card from Art Salvage, an art store that prevents quality art materials from going to waste, and a $10 gift card from Teas Co.
