Opportunity: Call for Artists: Brushes and Boughs

The Downtown Spokane Partnership invites local artists to participate in Brushes and Boughs, a live tree-painting contest and charitable art showcase during the Merry & Magical Lane Lighting on Saturday, November 22, 2025, 6:00 – 8:00pm. Ten artists are invited to paint holiday-themed plywood trees, each paired with a local nonprofit, to celebrate creativity and community giving. Each participating artist will receive a stipend of $100, all materials will be supplied.  Trees will be displayed downtown through December 21, with public voting and a $500 donation awarded to the winning artist’s nonprofit partner.

How to Apply
To be considered, please submit the following by 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2025, to
info@downtownspokane.org:
• A brief bio and examples of past work or portfolio link
• A short description of your artistic style or ideas for the holiday tree
• Contact information (email and phone number)

Requirements
Theme: Merry & Magical — encourage creativity and designs that capture the wonder of the holiday
season.
Nonprofit Pairing: Each artist will be paired with a local nonprofit, either by request or through DSP
matching. Artists are encouraged to incorporate design elements that reflect or celebrate their
nonprofit’s mission.
