Spokane Arts is seeking individual artists or artist teams to submit proposals for small street murals located inside of new bike/scooter corrals to be installed throughout Spokane. These murals will be installed to designate bike and scooter parking areas and bring new artwork throughout the city. Exact sizes will vary, but will be approximately 100 sq ft. Applicants should submit mural proposals for a 8′ x 12′ space, but be prepared to adjust their design to fit specific size and location if selected for this project. Up to six artists or artist teams will be selected to install their mural at one of six locations.
An artist stipend will be awarded in the amount of $500. Spokane Arts will supply the necessary paint, materials, and supplies. Artists must use specific provided paint, which will contain a grit additive. Spray paint or other paint spray applicators may not be used for this project.

The selection committee made up of arts professionals and community members reserves the right to make no selection. This project is a partnership between the City of Spokane and Spokane Arts.
Applicants may submit up to three proposal images. Mural proposal images should be designed for a 8′ x 12′ space, but artists should be prepared to adjust their design to fit specific size and location if selected for this project. Applicants can include up to eight images of previous work. The selection committee, made up of arts professionals and project and community representatives, will consider both your past work and your concept for this project. The selection committee reserves the right to make no selection.
Open to Northwest artists or artist teams. Priority will be given to artists/teams with roots in the Spokane area. Artists without extensive mural experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
