Grantee: Imagine Jazz

Project Title: Imagine Jazz – Concert Series, Festival, Education and Fellowship Program
Year awarded: 2019, Round 1

Imagine Jazz is a non-profit organization founded by local composer, saxophonist and teacher, Rachel Bade-McMurphy, and SFCC teacher, composer, and trumpet player, Brendan McMurphy. The 2019-2020 season will be Imagine Jazz’s second year providing Spokane with high-quality concerts and educational opportunities.

Just in time for Jazz Appreciation Month (April) SAGA is supporting the 2019-2020 Imagine Jazz concert series, festival, clinics, and fellowship program. The year of jazz kicks off with an April 26-28 Jazz Festival featuring many local artists and the “Inner Flame” regional Women’s composer collaborative. This festival will feature many local musicians and composers. Guest and local artist concerts in a variety of venues, two clinics with legendary visiting artists, and fellowship opportunities will continue into 2020.
