Event: Voice of the River Art Nature and Community

Date: June 13, 2021
Time: 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Where: People's Park Parking Lot 2500-2834 W Clarke Ave

The Voice of the River (VOR) project is an ecological art project on the banks of the Spokane River. Part dance, part story, and performance art, it centers on our sense of place and what nature means to each of us. Historic salmon runs are the inspiration for this event, which aims to engage all at a deeper level around our role as stewards of rivers, water, and fish. Art and story illuminate the importance of returning salmon to the Upper Columbia and Spokane Rivers, and an important water treaty. VOR is free and will be a submission to the Global Water Dances arts project, an international water-related dance art project happening around the world this same weekend.
