The Visiting Artist Lecture Series presents Contemporary Voices, a lecture and panel featuring Amanda Donnan, chief curator of the Frye Art Museum and distinguished scholars in Art History and Visual Culture – Johanna Gosse, Catherine Girard and Meredith Shimizu.

Donnan’s talk, The Feeling Eye: Art, Empathy and Entanglement will look at some of the ways contemporary artists are envisioning or catalyzing personal, social, and environmental healing and interdependence.

Amanda Donnan will speak on:

The panel, Unsettled States: Art in and Against Crisis, mediated by Dr. Johanna Gosse will focus on questions of how art responds to environmental change which includes anthropogenic climate change but also can encompass many other systems and manifestations of ecological and sociopolitical upheaval. The panel will take place at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture at 6:30 PM on Thursday February 27.
