Date: November 3, 2025
Time: 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Where: Spokane Falls Community College Bldg. 24, Room 110 3410 W. Whistalks Way Spokane, WA 99224

Artist Sasha Barrett will lecture about artworks currently on view at the SFCC Fine Art Gallery. Sasha Barrett was born and raised in Sumy, Ukraine, where he spent half of his childhood. He has been a resident artist at various clay studios across the country, as well as completing his MFA from the University of Montana in 2025. He states, “This exhibition is a portrayal of the last three-plus years of war on the soil of my homeland. Whether through the tactile properties of clay sculpture, the direct information delivery of documentary film, or actual artifacts and objects from the war, I hope this presentation of artwork leaves you with compassion and a deeper understanding of what Ukraine is fighting for.” Please join us for a reception following the artist lecture.
