Hey! My name is Janae. I’m a Las Vegas native who moved to Spokane February of 2025 to start pursuing my art seriously. Despite being new to Spokane, I have had my art at Terrain and The Roots Experience, been featured photographer for Spokane Fashion Week and hosted events at Dream Studio. I have curated stylized shoots as well as shot multiple events. It’s insane to think a hobby I started out of spite has landed me here.  I started doing photography when I was 7. My mom is the worst at taking photos. So many of my baby pictures have her thumb covering most of the image. So, at 7 I decided I could do better. I borrowed her green point and shoot kodak camera. I’ve been hooked ever since. I took my first actual photography class my sophomore year in high school. I’m extremely grateful for my teacher Mr. Kuhn. We were taught with a film camera; the following year is when we were allowed to use digital. That knowledge has stuck with me. I became my high school robotics photographer. I used to take photos of every event. As the years went on, I dabbled and explored shooting more things, and just allowing my creativity to grow. I have taken pictures of dang near anything you can think of. I love working outside and taking pictures in the sun… thus the name Sun-Kissed Photos. What can I say? I take photos of everything under the sun.

Wherever I am, I bring that desert sun with me. I’ve been described as a bright creative light wherever I go as well as “sunbeam, she reminds us that joy is strength, and that light, no matter how soft, can cut through darkness.”.  As time moves on I’m becoming more and more aware that I am just a photographer. I am an aerialist, I draw, I play instruments (poorly), I design clothes. At my core I am an artist. I always have been, and always will be an artist. I allow my curiosity, joy and creativity to be my driving force in everything I do.
