Hey there, thanks for stopping by!
My name is Ava, and I am a poet and traditional artist born and raised in beautiful Spokane. I have doodled relentlessly since age three, and have since improved both my technique and my pronunciation of the letter R (hoorah).
After a slow-burn conversion, I was baptized as a born-again Christian in 2023 and have since been looking for ways to honor God with the creativity He has given me. I believe artists (writers, painters, musicians, filmmakers, etc.) are called to be seers and namers—to notice the little details, the big picture, the mediocre in between, and to cause others to see those things for what they truly are in an entirely new way. And so it is my goal to serve your spirit by sharing my experience and perceptions, and to highlight the beautiful handiwork of the original Artist in the process. Glory be to God!
I have always admired artists who are able to draw a subject without forsaking accuracy nor originality and I seek to do the same. Some of my biggest influences, not including loved ones, are Cartoon Saloon, Tim Burton, Hayao Miyazaki, Forrest Dickison, and myriad graphic novelists. If you couldn’t guess, I am an animation junkie and would love to get involved in the craft someday! Until that day when my patience improves, my favorite mediums are ink, watercolor, marker, and colored pencil.
If you are interested in perusing more of my art, a quick search will get you to my Cara, Instagram, or YouTube pages. Dig a little and you might even find my poetry. Don’t judge too hard, I am homeschooled (I never even learned to read, my cat wrote this bio for me)
All that said, thank you for lending an ear to my rambling! I hope you enjoy my art and have a splendiferous day 🙂
