In summer 2023, Downtown Spokane Staff are piloting activations by sponsoring the weekend closure of Wall Street between Main Ave and Spokane Falls Blvd. to make it available to groups, artists, musicians and associations for a variety of activations within a loose framework. Wall Street activations are designed to create a positive image of Downtown Spokane, enhance the community at large; support local artists, makers and craftspeople; showcase our region’s diverse cultural communities; and expose downtown residents and visitors to a wide array of fun and engaging opportunities.
You are invited to join us this summer in bringing vibrancy to downtown. Please consider signing up to participate in one or more of the following weekend activities:
FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE | Located next to the pop-up Summer Patio no Wall Street. Friday Night Live runs Fridays, 5:00pm to 8:30pm, starting July 14 through end of August. Availability for one musician and one food vendor. Musicians are eligible for a stipend of $150, and may solicit tips.
SUMMER SATURDAYS | Saturday’s are for learning, be it cultural experiences, movement, dance, arts and crafts, science, sport, and more. DSP event coordinators will be on hand to make Wall Street accessible for a variety of community demand activities. Summer Saturdays run 10:00am to 5:00pm, starting July 22 through end of August and is available to community groups, cultural associations, clubs, fitness instructors and more to use within those hours. Food Trucks and musicians may also schedule a space, there is no musician stipend for Saturdays.
SUNDAY ART MART | The Sunday Art Mart is available to artists and crafters who are selling original works created by the applying artist. Multi-level sales and franchise sellers will not be considered for participation. Examples of acceptable handmade and original wares: Painting, Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawing, Glass, Metal Works, Photography, Sculpture, Wood, Jewelry, Fiber arts. Space is limited to up to 10 artist booths per Sunday, one musician, and two food vendors. Interested artists and artisans should complete the online WSVR form and sign-up for selected dates. Applicants will be reviewed and approved on a first come first served basis. A stipend of $250, plus tips, is available to approved musicians.
Event vendors and organizations wishing to operate on Wall Street in downtown must be approved and placed on the “Wall Street Vendor Registration” (WSVR) list, which is reviewed on an annual basis. Vendors are responsible for using Wall Street in accordance with the criteria described in the WSVR Program.
