Opportunity: Casting Call: Corpus Christi at Stage Left Theater

Aritistic Discipline: Stage
AUDITION NOTICE!
Corpus Christi 13 PERFORMERS
Stage Left Theater is holding auditions for our 2022 Season Opener, CORPUS CHRISTI, by Terrence McNally on Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., with Call Backs on Monday, November 8! Directed by Troy Nickerson, this production will run from January 14 – 30, 2022. Rehearsals will run from December 9 – January 12 and will be held in the evening, Tuesdays through Saturdays (except holidays).
ALL GENDER IDENTITIES, AGES, RACES, SIZES, AND BELIEF-HOLDERS are encouraged to audition. Though the script was originally written for a cast of 13 gay men, the play has taken on various iterations since 1998. A celebration of diversity and of God’s love for ALL creation, our iteration will include the spectrum of what it means to be human.
REQUIREMENTS:
Please note that there is strong language, sexual situations, partial nudity, and violence in this production.
You must be fully vaccinated to audition and to perform at Stage Left Theater. Proof of vaccination required at auditions. You must wear a mask while in the facilities, except when on stage.
Arrive on time for your audition. Bring your headshot and resume with you. Prepare a 2 minute contemporary monologue (1985 or later). When you arrive at the theater, check in with our attendant. Performers will be called for each 30 minute time session in the order they arrive. Each audition will last 5-8 minutes.
To sign up for your audition slot, please click the link below. Time slots are available in 30 minute increments, with 10 potential slots in each half-hour section. This is to keep the number of people inside the theater to a minimum.
Ideally, those auditioning will have read the script to familiarize themselves with the nature of this production.
If you are unable to attend either audition date, you may email a 2 minute monologue, headshot, and resume to Audition.StageLeft@gmail.com.
The selected cast will each receive a $50 stipend to help with gas and parking, and they will share in our new Actors’ Tip Pool as well. Tips collected throughout the run of a production will be divided equally among all cast members after closing night.
