| Katie Frey is a Spokane artist who works in multiple mediums but primarily paints landscapes and animals. She has been teaching and creating art in Spokane since 2009. She paints with bright colors and expressive lines. The animals and landscapes are broken up with spontaneous dots, abstract color blocks, and hidden patterns. The subject matter is planned, but everything else is intuitive: purple shadows, tangled plants, a landscape disintegrating into the abstract. Katie wants her art to look as spontaneous and joyful as it feels when she creates it.
