Boomjam is Spokane’s all-ages, one-day music and arts festival designed to fuel the region’s creative economy and spotlight emerging talent in the Inland Northwest. Rooted in a desire to retain and uplift young creatives, Boomjam responds directly to Spokane’s “missing middle” in live music infrastructure—an absence of mid-sized venues that causes many touring acts to bypass the city entirely. By offering a curated outdoor experience for 1,000–1,500 attendees, the festival creates space for mid-tier national touring acts and pairs them with local musicians and multidisciplinary artists. With a focus on community access, artistic excellence, and diverse cultural expression, Boomjam is an incubator for Spokane’s next generation of musicians, artists, and cultural producers.

SAGA funding will support the 2025 Boomjam Festival by boosting payments to local musicians and artists, expanding performance opportunities, and supporting stronger production. Festival partners like Placeholder Studios, KYRS Radio, Aftershow Music Publication, and Feast World Kitchen provide artists with enhanced opportunities beyond the stage… from in-studio sessions and artist interviews to professional development and cross-cultural culinary showcases. New “Boomjam Extracurriculars” offer informal internships, networking with touring professionals, and skill-building spaces for young creatives to learn how to sustain careers in music, visual art, and event production. Local art vendors will benefit from waived booth fees, and all participating artists keep 100% of their merch and art sales.

Boomjam’s music and art selections draw inspiration from Bandcamp’s indie ecosystem, international festival trends, and the regional Pacific Northwest scene. As Boomjam continues to grow, so too does its potential to become an anchor in Spokane’s summer cultural calendar.
