I am a DJ, turntablist, remixer, music producer, and visual artist. I first touched the turntables as a breakdancer at 11 years old, and in 1986 became the 1st DJ to mix for commercial radio in Spokane, Washington – at just 14 years old. As a turntablist, I won the 1993 Inland Northwest Battle of the DJ’s and began mixing with Tobin Costen on Spokane’s then only all rap show that same year. The following year I began mixing for music legend Nasty-Nes on Seattle’s KCMU Rap Attack until retiring from music in the mid-90’s. However, I picked up the needles in 2020 to reunite with Nasty-Nes for KFOX Nightbeat where I can be heard mixing every Sunday night from 9-11pm on RainierAvenueRadio.world. In 2020, I became the 1st Spokane DJ to mix on “Sway In The Morning” – the world’s #1 Hip-Hop radio show. My mixes consistently rank in the top 10 on Mixcloud’s Global charts – even hitting #1 on multiple charts – and after working with former Eazy E artist, Tairrie B, on her recent album, “Feminenergy,” I became her DJ/Remixer.
Between the Covers
Saranac Art Projects is pleased to present Between the Covers, a group exhibition of book arts. This exhibit features a multi-disciplinary collection of works including printmaking, photography, ceramics and more. Participating artists have engaged in an exciting range of thematic and formal interpretations. The book arts are extremely broad in scope. A variety of media can be used as communication tools often seeking to challenge traditional definitions of “book.”
Maggie Sullivan

Herbert Lawrence
My name is Herbert Lawrence and photography is an enjoyable hobby of mine. Looking to put my talents on a professional platform moving forward.
Caleb Seven Hawks Walsh
Combining whimsy and humor, and primarily working with acrylic, Caleb creates visual art that spans the full range of emotional responses from heartbreak to hope. Inspired by old cartoons from the 30’s and modern cartoons like Spongebob and Adventure Time, as well as the flora and fauna of the Pacific Northwest, Caleb has developed a unique, vibrant style that speaks to power and potential of color and shape.

I am an Artist, Jewelry Maker, and Cosplayer. My drawing style is close to anime style. I make wire elf ears, and other designs like dragon, angel wings, and demon wings. I also sew for cosplay and I’ve been making dragon plushies.
Darrien Mack
Design is the overarching theme in my work. Whether it’s videography, photography, illustration, dj-ing, or music production, having a grounded sense of organization and cleanliness is key.

I am very excited to be engaged in Irish dance. I found this form of expression at a later age, but it has stuck with me and has become a lifelong adventure. My dedication to this performing art has taken me from studying under mentors in Germany, with family in Ireland, to studying with masters though zoom in my living room. I work closely with local Irish bands to add excitement to their local performances. Whether on tour or at a local nursing home, I focus on authenticity and inclusion. I take this passion with me into classrooms and workshops, where I share my Irish dance experiences. My projects focus on creating hope in the community through the expression of Irish dance.

I am a local eighteen year old singer songwriter located in the PNW, and I have been creating and recording music for over six years. In 2018, I released an EP entitled Lost in Translation, which has amassed over 100,000 streams on Spotify. The Chair, one of the songs from my EP, received best song of the year by a popular indie music blogger, Jason Scott. I have been featured in various music magazines including Pop Matters, Atwood Magazine, Bizarre Mag, B-Sides and Badlands, The Inlander, Grimy Goods, and The Alternative Press. For live performances, I received the “Best New Artist of the Year Award” from a local Spokane music venue, The Bartlett. I was also a featured artist at Volume, which is a local music festival in Spokane. Overall, music is invaluable to me, and I love creating it. Stay weird, support artists, and love your local music scene!
