Cost of Living

Seth Collier and JoEllen Wang use ubiquitous urban resources to respond to the extractive systems and cultural excesses which produce them. Through painting, digital art, and material exploration, they examine forms of survival in the places where society breaks down.

This exhibition is generously supported by the ASG and SUB SOX who has donated “Artist Socks” designed by Seth Collier and JoEllen Wang to the SFCC MOSAIC Clothing Closet. For every pair of “Artist’s Socks” sold, a percentage of the proceeds go to the Artist who created them or their specific charity.

Want to participate? Drop any new socks into bins located in Fine Art Bldg. 6, Student Union Bldg. 17, and Falls Gateway Bldg. 32 for the duration of the exhibit. All socks will be donated to the SFCC MOSAIC Clothing Closet.

“One day a fuse blew up in my house”, February 2024 Exhibition

The exhibition, “One day a fuse blew up in my house” features two members, Mariah Boyle, president of SAP, and Dan McCann. An Opening Reception will be held for the artists on February 3rd, 2024 from 5:00 – 8:00. It is free and open to the public. Normal gallery hours are Friday & Saturday 12:00 – 8:00 PM
Mariah will be exhibiting a large mixed media drawing.Dan will be showing the original collages for the book and have copies for sale. The exhibit will include new boxes and a wall sculpture.

The Gonzaga University Art Department and the Gonzaga University Urban Arts Center are pleased to present their 2024 Regional Student Invitational Art Exhibition.
This exhibition runs from Friday, February 2 – Friday, March 1, 2024
OPENING RECEPTION – Friday, February 2, 4-7 pm
CLOSING RECEPTION – Friday, March 1, 4-7 pm
This is a group exhibition featuring student art works from: Gonzaga University, Eastern Washington University, Whitworth University, Spokane Falls Community College, and North Idaho College.
The gallery is open to the public: Fridays 4 pm-7 pm and Saturdays 10 am-3 pm. Admission is free.

Lewis & Clark High School Tiger Fund Alumni & Student Art Sale

This is an art show and sale of artwork done by LC alumni and students. The proceeds will all go to The LC Tiger Fund which was established in 2007 to award scholarships to seniors who had experienced hardship or adversitly during their lives, had maintained good grades in high school, participated in school and community events, and wanted to continue their education but needed financial help. This is our first fundraiser for the fund. We want to include all alumni, build the fund so we can increase the number of scholarships and dollar amount, as well as give out renewal scholarships.
The website will be www.lctigerfund.org when it goes live by February 1.

Spokane Potters’ Guild Chili Feed

Come browse through over 600 handcrafted chili bowls created by artists from the Spokane Potters’ Guild. Then enjoy some delicious chili in your new bowl with friends and family! Afterward, wander through our displays of unique art and handcrafted ceramics! Participate in our silent auction featuring amazing art produced by our skilled potters. Winners need not be present to win. All proceeds support Spokane Potters’ Guild whose mission is “ to promote the general knowledge of the ceramic arts by contributing to the artistic, educational and cultural awareness of the community.” This event is held at the Corbin Senior Center, 827 W Cleveland Ave, Spokane, WA. A large bowl with chili is $15, and a small bowl with chili is $10. An option to purchase bowls without chili is available.

Jo Fyfe – Artist, Teacher, Friend

The New Moon Art Gallery is featuring one of Spokane’s most prolific, and beloved artists, Jo Fyfe, for our February First Friday show, February 2nd. Jo is an octogenarian, who has been creating and teaching art for decades. She has mentored and taught many of Spokane’s current artists. This show will pay tribute to her creative spirit, her dedication to teaching and is in recognition of her many accomplishments. Please join us in honoring this woman/artist who has touched so many lives in such a positive way.

Valentine’s Pottery Date Night 1

Date night at the Pottery Studio! This combo pottery night includes both the potter’s wheel and a raku firing.
Wheel experience: We provide clay and a bit of instruction on how to throw on the potter’s wheel. We won’t be keeping anything but memories, so get messy and have fun!
Raku: We provide handmade art items ready for you to glaze and fire using this ancient Japanese technique. Take home your unique wall hanging or decorative vase at the end of the night.
Price is for one person
