I am a local eighteen year old singer songwriter located in the PNW, and I have been creating and recording music for over six years. In 2018, I released an EP entitled Lost in Translation, which has amassed over 100,000 streams on Spotify. The Chair, one of the songs from my EP, received best song of the year by a popular indie music blogger, Jason Scott. I have been featured in various music magazines including Pop Matters, Atwood Magazine, Bizarre Mag, B-Sides and Badlands, The Inlander, Grimy Goods, and The Alternative Press. For live performances, I received the “Best New Artist of the Year Award” from a local Spokane music venue, The Bartlett. I was also a featured artist at Volume, which is a local music festival in Spokane. Overall, music is invaluable to me, and I love creating it. Stay weird, support artists, and love your local music scene!

As a storyteller, my goal is to connect people with wisdom through the ancient art of story. I tell traditional tales (fairy tales, folk tales, myths, legends, etc.) from my Philippine Culture. I love insights and lessons best when they’re wrapped in funny or poignant stories. I began my storytelling journey when I became a mom and wanted to share my heritage with my children. I have curated artifacts and a library collection of Filipiniana documenting the history of Filipinos and their interactions with the surrounding countries, traders and travelers as far back as the Stone Age.

Andrea Parrish

For as long as I can remember, I have not had a mind’s eye – the ability to visualize. This aphantasia has created an interesting relationship with visual art. For many years, I relied on photography to record and tell the story of what’s around me. However, after a hand surgery left me unable to use an SLR camera, I took a friend’s dare to pick up a paintbrush. The planets and starscapes that have emerged gnaw at the edges of my memory in a way that seem to tease with what is just beyond conscious reach. Since I am not able to visualize what I’m trying to paint, it’s a matter of just trusting what appears. These days, I work primarily in paint, though I occasionally still work with photography and the written word. You can see a little of everything I do at @tinytall on Instagram, or on my website.
