The Spokane Playwrights Laboratory (SPL) is a professional resource for local writers and playwrights, helping authors of original scripts refine work in preparation for the stage through critique and workshopping. This resource provides a significant missing link in the local page-to-stage pipeline and will help the more than 400 known playwrights in the Spokane area, as only two have had full-length local productions in the last 5 years.

Scott Doughty is a professional digital marketer and Dahveed Bullis is a film and commercial director/editor with 40 years combined experience in script development. SAGA funding will support SPL’s work focusing exclusively on Spokane playwrights.
