Just One’s arts programming is arguably their most critical programming –connecting youth to a safe space, mentors, and creative activities. Their programming offers an outlet for creative expression and exposure to artistic career paths that they might not have the opportunity to explore otherwise. SAGA funding will ensure that Just One is able to continue their impressive, high-quality, continuous arts programming for Hillyard youth.
Every year Just One serves 2,000 youth and often, their families as well. All of their programs are offered to Hillyard families at no charge and center youth with high ACE scores (adverse childhood experiences); youth involved in the school disciplinary system; youth with IEPs (individual education plans); youth who are court-involved; people who are Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color; and youth who are food insecure.
