SAGA support will aid photographers Bill and Kathy Kostelec in the creation of a free, public exhibition of 50 fine art film and silver gelatin prints, capturing the beauty and unique character of Spokane.
Much has changed since Bill and Kathy first began photographing Spokane: the Monroe Street Bridge was reconstructed, the Rookery Building was demolished, and places such as Dutch’s, the Lucky Penny, and Sam’s Pit were shuttered. These Spokane icons are just a few of the memories represented in the forthcoming exhibition, which will include many more of their favorite Spokane captures spanning 25 years.
The ‘Spokane Silver Celebration’ exhibition took place in Summer 2019 at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, featuring 50 silver gelatin prints, celebrating the Kostelec’s decades of photographing Spokane.
