For the last 25 years, the residents of Spokane’s historic Browne’s Addition neighborhood and other Spokane neighborhoods have met at the gazebo in Coeur d’Alene Park to hear music by local performers each Thursday night during the summer months.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the concert series, the Browne’s Addition Neighborhood Council is adding a 10-minute Poetry Prelude reading by local poets during the four concerts in August 2022. Spokane’s Poet Laureate Chris Cook, a Browne’s Addition resident, will be hired as consultant and coordinator, helping to choose the poets whose work will appeal to the concert-goer audience.
SAGA funding will provide pay for the four poets’ performances and expose a new audience to our local poets’ work.
