I am an artist, focusing on the intricacies of everyday life. What excites me most about what I make is that I’m on a path of discovery and exploration of paint as subject, object, material, and texture.

For every project I go into, that is the most important consideration I make. Whether it is a script I am writing, a costume I am sewing, or an historical interpretation I am presenting, this question guides my work through every step of the process.

Steve Belzman Memorial Mural Dedication
Please join Avenue West Gallery for the dedication of our new Memorial Mural honoring Steve Belzman, longtime contributing member of our gallery. He had such a positive influence on all our member artists and on the Spokane art scene, it is fitting that the mural dedicated to him covers a large portion of our exterior gallery wall. Painted by local artist Aaron Smith, who is well known for his local urban murals, the mural depicts a lively kayaker racing down the Spokane River. Funding was provided by a SAGA grant and private donations.
Rachael Alt
I consider myself a pixel manipulator. I specialise in digital art since I was in high school. That was 30 years ago when I began my love of computer graphics.
Adam Blalock
My reasons for painting evolve as life happens and time marches on. I am however, continually fascinated with nature and wild outdoor places where I can hear the wind caress the tree tops, smell the earth-like aromas our planet has to offer, and of course witness the play of light on forms and colors.

Connor Bacon
I have always been a storyteller. Flashback to 6th grade, I’m equipped with a camcorder I received for Christmas recording home videos of my family and friends. Throughout the years that followed I was constantly documenting the lives of those closest to me, without any conscious awareness that I was doing so. I truly see every moment as a possible story, and live my life to gather as many stories as possible. In recent years, I took a more direct approach and have managed to make a business out of it.
