Event: Summer Daydreams at the Chase Gallery
Featureing work by Amanda Caldwell, Seiko A. Perdue, & Kenneth Susynski
Featuring three regional artists each working in their own distinct styles and in a range of mediums, the work all shares an evocative, dream-like quality. Fiber artist Seiko A. Purdue installed her fiber piece, Berry Grove, in the Chase, stringing the lightweight fabric structures from the ceiling slats above. The installation is surrounded by the large oil paintings by Seattle-based artist Kenneth Susynski and the paintings and drawings of Spokane artist Amanda Caldwell. All three artists were at the gallery for the September First Friday reception, on Friday, September 6, as well as for a lunch-hour Artist Talk.
“I have been investigating various ways to connect East and West through my hands, ideas, and actions, being a Japanese artist in the US for more than 20 years. ”
