Opportunity: Chase Gallery Call for Submissions

Aritistic Discipline: Visual

The Chase Gallery is now accepting portfolios for consideration of the 2023 exhibition schedule. The Chase is located prominently in Spokane City Hall. The mission of the gallery is to exhibit works that engage the public, bring people to a new outlook on contemporary issues, feature innovative artwork, and provide space for people of all backgrounds to share their perspective through art. The Chase Gallery is open whenever City Hall is open to the public.

Two dimensional, sculptural, installation, video, audio, and traditional to experimental artworks encouraged. Individual artists, artists teams, or proposals for curated themes are eligible. Although the Chase Gallery primarily focuses on curating group exhibits, exceptionally strong work may be considered for a solo exhibition. If work is accepted for exhibition, wall pieces must be hanging ready, and artists are responsible for providing all necessary sound and projection equipment for video, new media, and sound installations and artworks. As you apply, keep in mind there are limitations on hanging artwork from the ceiling and open-audio (headphones acceptable).

Although the Chase Gallery primarily focuses on group exhibits we curate from individual artists’ applicants, we occasionally work with guest curators to install proposed group exhibits. Guest curators interested in proposing a group show with set artwork may submit one application featuring a sample of work from each artist and additional links and information in the “Exhibit Proposal” section of the application. Artists groups interested in submitting work for a group curated show are encouraged to apply as individuals and note in the “Exhibit Proposal” section the other artists to be considered in their group, along with any information about themes or other connections to be considered by the gallery committee.
