Project Title: Marina - A Short Film

An award-winning writer, director, producer, and actor, Luis Garcia is a local filmmaker, who is also proficient in American Sign Language. Garcia strives to shed light on underrepresented experiences, fostering empathy and connection through the art of cinema. SAGA has provided support for his upcoming short film, “Marina,”–a drama about a deaf boy and a compassionate dishwasher. Garcia is working toward an inclusive production by actively seeking deaf and hard of hearing individuals for both cast and crew roles.
