STUDENT DESIGNED WASTEWATER ACCESS COVER CONTEST
SPONSORED BY THE CITY OF SPOKANE, SPOKANE ARTS, THE LANDS COUNCIL, AND THE SPOKESMAN REVIEW
Create a wastewater access cover design and your design could be made into wastewater access covers used all over the city! All Spokane students age 18 or under can submit a design for this contest. One winning design will be chosen and made into wastewater access covers that will be placed in our city (commonly referred to as a manhole cover). First place prize is $100, tickets to the Blue Zoo, and your design cast into a wastewater access cover. Second place prize is $50 and tickets to the Blue Zoo. The top six designs will be reproduced in a future edition of the Spokesman-Review!
Designs must be appropriate and appeal to a public audience. High contrast, black and white images with larger, simple shapes will be most suitable for casting. No fine detail! The design will be reflective of the ecology, water, nature, creatures or landscape of the Inland Northwest. What do you love about the river? How would you protect the river?
