This June, Spokane Arts is teaming up with artist and muralist Tiffany Patterson to offer a free mural workshop for artists looking to gain mural skills and experience. Artists with limited or no previous mural experience that are interested in developing mural painting skills and gaining public art experience are invited to apply. The workshop will take place over four days, June 24-27. Artists must be available those days to participate. The workshop will consist of an introductory class (indoor) in the evening on Thursday, June 24, two hours of prep time on Friday, June 25, and mural painting (outdoors) all day on Saturday, June 26, with the potential for additional paint time on Sunday, June 27. Artists from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in public art (including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists) will be prioritized for this opportunity. This opportunity is specifically for artists with limited or no previous mural or public art experience. This opportunity is for artists 18 years and over only. The information shared on this application will not be shared publicly and Spokane Arts staff will reach out to applicants about specific opportunities.
