Open Call for Artwork submissions for the Chase Gallery in Spokane City Hall, exhibition season 2021
Deadline: Wednesday, October 14, 11:59 p.m.
Spokane Arts is now accepting portfolios for consideration of the Chase Gallery’s 2021 exhibition schedule. The Chase is located prominently in Spokane City Hall. The mission of the gallery is to exhibit works that engage the public, bring people to a new outlook on contemporary issues, feature innovative artwork, and provide space for people of all backgrounds to share their perspective through art. The Chase Gallery is open if and when City Hall is open to the public. In 2020, although we have installed shows physically at the gallery, City Hall has been closed to the public due to coronavirus related public health restrictions and shows are being viewed primarily online. 2021 may see similar or other currently unforeseen restrictions.
Two dimensional, sculptural, installation, video, audio, and traditional to experimental artworks encouraged. Individual artists, artists teams, or proposals for curated themes are eligible. Although the Chase Gallery primarily focuses on curating group exhibits, exceptionally strong work may be considered for a solo exhibition. If work is accepted for exhibition, wall pieces must be hanging ready, and artists are responsible for providing all necessary sound and projection equipment for video, new media, and sound installations and artworks. Applications must be submitted through SmarterSelect here before the deadline of 10/14/2020. Please allow yourself additional time to address any technical issues you may have when submitting your application.
