Grantee: YES IS A FEELING!

Project Title: Gallery, Event Space, and Gift Store
Year awarded: 2019, Round 3

The stated mission of YES IS A FEELING is to honor, feature, and flaunt the talents of artists, makers and their patrons whose identities, creative/ intellectual work, and very lives exist in direct opposition to the status quo.

Taking up residence in the Steam Plant (in the former Pop Up Shop space), Roin Morigeau and Cody Schroeder are stepping into a ten-year plan to create an accessible and sustainable variety of arts activities. YES IS A FEELING has already begun operations and will solidify its base with infrastructural and operational assistance from SAGA.

The gallery will be curated by local artist, Roin Morigeau, and will consist of six annual exhibitions–both solo and group shows. The event space aims to offer a clean, beautiful, and ADA accessible environment with the intention of promoting and cultivating an equitable contemporary arts and culture movement. The gift shop will carry limited edition prints and art books from past and current artists as well as hand-crafted goods with an emphasis on local artists and designers.
