The Spokane Symphony Society is one of the few symphonies in the USA to own their own concert hall: the historic Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox, which also serves as a popular performing arts and events venue for the region. Artists from across the US and the globe book the Fox as a performance venue, enriching the Spokane and Inland Northwest communities.
In 2019, just before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fox suffered major flooding damage. The stage floor currently has ripples in several sections, causing safety concerns for performers. This is a concern for stage sets potentially tipping over, and for dancers or other artists who need to move quickly over the stage without tripping and getting hurt.
SAGA joins the effort to complete the Spokane Symphony’s fundraising to cover the cost of the repair, helping the society move forward with reconstruction to be completed during the Symphony’s summer off season.
