Grantee: KSPS PBS Inland Sessions

Project Title: Inland Sessions, Season 6
Year awarded: 2025, Round 2

KSPS PBS’s Inland Sessions returns for its sixth season in 2025–2026, continuing its mission to celebrate and amplify original music, poetry, and dance from across Spokane and the Inland Northwest. Since its launch in 2020, Inland Sessions has become a vital creative platform, producing over 100 commercial-free, half-hour episodes and featuring more than 300 regional performers. The Emmy-nominated series showcases the diversity and talent of Inland Northwest artists across genres… from ballet to hip-hop, traditional folk to contemporary flamenco. Seven new episodes are already in the can, with more slated for production in the coming months.

This artist-centered series not only provides high-quality broadcast opportunities, but also connects local performers to a wider audience through national streaming on PBS.org, where Inland Sessions stands proudly beside acclaimed programs like Austin City Limits and Great Performances. By offering stipends, professional video and audio production, and broad distribution, the series supports the creative economy of the region while cultivating deeper appreciation for the arts. Its blend of artistic integrity, community engagement, and public access has positioned it as a cultural archive and incubator for Inland talent.

With federal funding cuts to public broadcasting threatening small-station arts programming, SAGA funding is crucial to sustaining Inland Sessions and protecting the visibility and viability of our region’s creatives. Grant support will underwrite essential production costs, pay artists and contractors, and ensure free public access to every episode. By investing in this project, the community helps preserve the Inland Northwest’s rich creative voices and keeps them echoing far beyond the broadcast signal.
