Grantee: Imagine Jazz

Project Title: Imagine Spokane: Livestream Concert Series and Video Education Program
Year awarded: 2020, Round 2

Imagine Jazz is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the jazz legacy and advocating for creative progress through guest artist concerts and workshops.
SAGA is supporting Imagine Jazz to produce Live-stream concerts and new compositional works by local musicians, and to create a video educational program for local students and schools. The video lessons will cover a variety of topics that will assist local band directors and students, and will also work in-person once COVID-19 is controlled. These videos can be used in outlying rural areas as well as in Spokane so that the program will reach more students.

Additionally, Imagine Jazz is hand-picking artists, composers, and video presenters from prominent local bands, organizations and colleges to participate. Other musicians will be
chosen in the Spokane Jazz Orchestra and Spokane Symphony as well as singer-songwriters from the local scene, and members of the Imagine Jazz musician referral system.
