Scott Gyllstrom is a self-taught artist from Spokane, Washington, working in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, and ink. His work ranges from pattern-based compositions to abstract and figurative imagery, often blending these approaches within a single piece.

Through layered forms, mark-making, and shifting visual elements, Gyllstrom creates work that invites viewers to slow down and explore. Each piece offers something unexpected—small details, hidden relationships, or visual rhythms that reveal themselves over time.

Strange Way to Go brings together works that play with this sense of discovery, encouraging viewers to engage with the artwork in their own way and find meaning in the strange, the playful, and the unfamiliar.
