Students will be introduced to the process of relief printmaking working on drawing, designing, transferring, carving and printing a woodcut block print. For 3 weeks, students will work on a medium size woodblock under the instruction of Reinaldo Gil Zambrano covering the history, drawing approaches, carving technique and edition of blocks on printing process. This class is designed for those who would like to get an immersive experience into this legendary technique that will take your kindergarten potato stamp project into a new dimension of fine art printing.
Class runs Monday-Wednesday from 6-8:30pm, for a total of 6 sessions. With your single ticket purchase, you gain access to all six classes. You must be 18 years old or older to enroll this class. Students under 18 can participate with an adult who must be also registered for the class. Bring your printed ticket, a sketchbook with your personal drawings, a snack and carving tools if you have them.
