September at Saranac Art Projects features the work of two artist couples. In the West Gallery printmaker Mary Farrell & Jim Lipp. Mary collaborates with her husband and poet Jim in “Words & Images,” sometimes as a title, other times as a line or verse contextualized in the image. In this exhibition we are showing several of Jim’s poems alongside Mary’s images that reference our shared lives.
In the East Gallery ceramist Lisa Nappa and her husband Roger Ralston continue their adventure in color invoking the idea of seeing the world and making sense of it. Roger Ralston continues his chromatic odyssey through playful 3-dimensional figures and watercolors, referencing art history, politics and every day oddities to keep the sanity. Lisa Nappa explores her roots and her love of traditional ceramic techniques and materials. She creates collage like imagery on wall pieces symbolizing structures of the natural environment.
