Lotus Cultural Arts Open House

Lotus Cultural Arts Studio is hosting an all-ages open house dedicated to some of Spokane’s finest Artists.
LCAS is conveniently located downtown in the old Armory Building, one of Spokane’s best held secrets. Home of The Lotus Self Defense Academy, we are located at 202 W 2nd Ave. We have over 4000 sq ft of space that is unlike anything Spokane or the PNW has experienced. Guests will be welcomed to the historical 2nd floor location cultivating a host of cultural art forms and talent from visual arts, culinary, meditation, mindfulness, holistic healing, to martial arts training, classes, events, and more. Lotus Cultural Arts Studio is Spokane’s next great community of curated offerings and a unique approach for artists pioneering a new vision of cultural arts and disciplines.

Mary Welcome (Palouse, Washington/Idaho) is a multidisciplinary cultural worker. As an artist-organizer, her projects are rooted in community engagement and the development of intersectional programming to address equity, cultural advocacy, inclusivity, visibility, and imagination. She brings a nuanced perspective to the contemporary field, as an organizer working in service to small towns, as a cultural producer across American geographies, and as a facilitator of place-based arts programming.

I consider myself a pixel manipulator. I specialize in digital art since I wasn’t high school. That was 30 years ago when I began my love of computer graphics.

I consider myself a pixel manipulator. I specialize in digital art since I wasn’t high school. That was 30 years ago when I began my love of computer graphics.The apps on the android play store are the main apps I use. My objective has been to produce new media using generative new media apps. I like to push the limits of the app and create things that people aren’t doing yet I guess you could say that would be influencing. I find it relaxing and calming and very exciting.

Expanding Healthcare Access for Artists

Join Better Health Together, Spectrum, and Centre for Arts Workers for a virtual presentation and Q&A on healthcare eligibility in Washington State. Artists and creative workers often work gigs or freelance, so our focus is to support individuals facing barriers to healthcare. Many people are unsure if they qualify for benefits, so we decided to host this event to get our questions answered! Everyone is welcome to attend!

Who is this Shaun guy, and why is he so awesome? Director, writer, ninja, editor, part-time lover, part-time fighter, and Astronaut Enthusiast.Shaun Springer is a pretty cool guy that you should know. His work includes Directing films, commercials, documentaries and music videos. He was also worked professionally as a screenwriter, and script doctor. His feature film, “The Garageland Chronicles” was shot entirely in Spokane and has played at film festivals all over the US, as well as throughout the UK & Europe. He is the author of the children’s book “Nobody Cares About Jimmy,” and his favorite Batman is Kevin Conroy. As for being so awesome… You’ll just have to find out for yourself.
