Spokane based illustrator Halie Akre, although born in Northern California, has resided in the Spokane area since 2005. Halie started drawing at the young age of two after watching her Grandfather who was a homegrown artists in their rural California community. Halie is known for her distinct drawing style and creating whimsically simple and vibrant illustrations that depict a variety of characters and concepts. Halies work is often done using markers, ink, and watercolor mediums. A lot of her work is self initiated and sold online, as well as, through freelance commission work, and community events.
