Artist: Anette LusherShe/Her/Hers

Artistic Discipline: Visual
Location: Cheney, WA

Anette Lusher is a visual artist based in Cheney, WA since 2019. Prior to moving to Eastern WA, she lived over 20 years in Seattle, WA , 10 years in Kentucky, and 3 years in Oklahoma. Originally from Germany, Anette made the USA her home in 1982.

Her evocative paintings resonate with the viewer on many different levels and often spark an immediate dialog. The Artist embraces those conversations and may integrate newfound concepts into another project. Her work directly responds to the surrounding environment and uses everyday experiences from the artist as a starting point. Abstract works seldom show the complete structure. This results in the fact that Anette can easily convey her imagination without being hindered by historical reality. She approaches a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered and conceptual way. Those intense personal moments are then masterfully executed.

“I enjoy life to the fullest and hope to be working in the art field for many more years to come. Extensive travels have given me an insight into many different cultures, their history, and their beautiful diverse art. Each visit has enriched my life as a person as well as an artist and has opened my mind to try new approaches in my creative process. My art evolves as much as I grow and evolve throughout my life.

The world around me is a vast canvas, a constant source of images, which are my creative catalysts. As multi-media artist, I explore life and new concepts searching for that moment of inspiration. The tactile appearance of my paintings is achieved in integral parts through built-up, pooled, scraped, layered, or dribbled paint. Each layer acts as a metaphor for time’s passage.

I think of my paintings as an expression of calmness and flow and sometimes of dance and seduction and let color, technique, and mood guide me to the finished piece. Each of my work tells a story, relates to life events, and depicts emotional, spiritual, and conceptual ideas. I often hear how evocative my paintings are and that they resonate with the viewer on many different levels. That is exactly what I strive to achieve.”

“Look at my work and create your own vision, make your own memories come alive, or dream of what is yet to come. ” ~~~~~ Anette Lusher
