The 10th Annual Block Party will take place on July 14th from 5:00 pm to midnight. The show is a unique art experience for the Coeur d’Alene area that has become a much anticipated event. We hope you have experienced the show in the past and are excited as we are for its return.
This show is unlike any other event happening in Coeur d’Alene for many reasons. The Block Party not only features and supports local visual artists but also film and performance artists. We reach out through local schools, supporting galleries, art groups, and small businesses to find a wide variety of local artists, and provide support and development workshops to help artists prepare their work in a professional way. The art is selected for this show by a panel of professional artists and members of the arts community. Over 300 pieces will be shown and available for purchase. Each year the show has been a greater success than the previous one, with over 4,500 people walking through during the last event, it captivated a wide and diverse audience, making a true community gathering.
While Emerge shows usually feature three to four artists, this show features over 145 local artists. Our new location with the addition of our neighbor’s spaces provides thousands of square feet of space for the art display, film room, interactive art space, bar, and large outdoor performance stage, with a full line-up of music from up-and-coming local musicians.
Not only is this event an incredible platform for local artists, but it is also one of Emerge’s biggest annual fundraisers through art and merchandise sales, donations, bar proceeds, and community sponsorships. It is at the heart of the Emerge mission to provide low cost to free arts education and support to youth and adults in our community. The funds raised during the Block Party will be used to cover the cost of our monthly art exhibits and supply materials for art classes. They also allow Emerge to continue providing individuals with professional development support and tools to further their careers in the arts.
