The GLOW Children Early Learning Center is a non-profit childcare center established in 2019 to serve children infant through 12 years old. The mission of GLOW Children is to provide a safe and healthy early education program primarily for children whose parents attend Lumen High School. Their mission is also to address the important issues of poverty, trauma and equity particularly within vulnerable populations, such as teenaged parents.
GLOW Children Early Learning Center will be implementing a new program, Music Together, in order to increase family engagement and ignite stronger connections for children with school and at home through making music. Music Together will provide four classes each week for two semesters for a total of ten months. Each family enrolled in the program will receive weekly facilitation from a music teacher, Music Together curriculum, and on-going mentoring and support to the classroom teachers throughout the two semesters.
SAGA funding will help enroll at least 75 families in Music Together, supporting family engagement and parent-child relationships, which is critical with teenage parents.
