Event: Wanted: Poetry of Prayer & Desire

Join Mika for an in-person generative writing workshop at Wishing Tree Books on Saturday, October 15, 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (And then hang out after for a fun poetry reading at 4 p.m. with Mery Smith!)

WANTED: A WORKSHOP FOR WRITING PRAYERS, ODES, AND TRASHY POEMS ABOUT SEX
We’ll look at writing from Sappho to Sharon Olds, John O’Donohue’s blessings, Mary Oliver’s poems of attention, and more, to write our own poems of desire and request. We’ll look at the overlap (and gaps) between writing about the body and writing about the spirit. We’ll have fun playing around with words.

This workshop costs $15. You need to pre-register by filling out this form, but you will pay on the day of the workshop at Wishing Tree Books. If you’d like to attend the workshop but $15 is a financial burden, just shoot me an email!
