Bedtime Stories is a yearly literary celebration in which Northwest writers unveil original short stories created for the event. Taking place each year in October, proceeds go toward Humanities Washington’s mission to create spaces to explore different perspectives.
The Bedtime Stories fundraiser has included prominent Northwest novelists like Charles Johnson, Tom Robbins, Jess Walter, Sharma Shields, Jamie Ford, David Guterson, August Wilson, and Garth Stein. The events also feature the presentation of the Humanities Washington Award. This year, spend an hour listening to Charles Johnson, Tiffany Midge, and Jess Walter read original works about coming Together Again. The event will feature a welcome poem from Poet Laureate, Rena Priest, testimonials from Prime Time Family Reading, and a fundraising opportunity you won’t want to miss!
Even when we are apart, stories bring us together again.
To keep our community safe, we have decided to go virtual this year. From the Poet Laureate to Prime Time Family Reading, Bedtime Stories will showcase the Humanities Washington programs that bring our state together. It is an opportunity to listen to award-winning authors read original works, celebrate our community, and support Humanities Washington. Registration is free!
