Small Things – work by Bradd Skubinna and Roger Ralston
Saranac Art Projects hours: Thursday, 2-6 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 12-8 p.m.
Bradd Skubinna: The art is new. It could be made from various things. It could be drawings, ink, gouache on paper, or there could be photographs of various things. The photographs might be drawn on. Some drawings are done with colored pencil. There could be arrangements of smallish found things. Grids can be helpful. Drawing is mark-making.
Roger Ralston: I have been drawing. It has been an investigation of materials and presentation ideas. These pieces, displayed in February, are a snapshot of what I have been toying with, and the remnants of some other investigations. It’s as though I walk through the woods, looking for a bridge to enable me to cross a coulee I seem to be standing, looking across.
