As a graphic designer and artist, I aim to execute high quality and vibrant design work that is kitschy, exciting and effective while exuding maximalism and vibrancy. Artists that I pull inspiration from are Pauline Boty, Andy Warhol, and David Hockney. All these artists use vibrant color palettes and bold, impactful design I want to showcase in my art and design projects. I am always striving to combine fun lighthearted styles with deeper sentimentality and purpose. For me, artistic endeavors often connect back to my identity and experiences, as a daughter, woman, friend, and artist. I find myself being drawn into nostalgic work and explorations of femininity and womanhood, our relationships with each other, and our emotions in relationships with those around us. My work is at its best when it can engage with people and identity and spark conversations around bigger ideas. Most of my work can in one way or another connect back to my personal experiences and includes motifs from popular culture.
I aim to be a very personable relational designer; this has begun to show in my work and is something I hope to continue to expand on. The things that are most important to me in my life are my relationships with others, and I am excited to do more work that emphasizes the relational aspects of my personality. I convey my vibrant community-oriented identity with bright colors, playful shapes, and bold choices. I take pride in my optimistic upbeat nature and want that to be reflected in the work I’m doing. I feel as though I am constantly growing in my ability of course but also my approach to art and understanding of what it means to make and how I can make things meaningful.
