“Trailing the edges to find the whole, finding the sum of parts: roadside boundaries, wayside grasses, traces of trash left behind. The work in this exhibition is an exploration of proximity and margins through noticing and collecting. My process is often grounded in walking, and this underlines the themes in my work. Across the gallery space are a constellation of forms – sculptural pedestals, paintings on canvas, ceramic objects, and found items. Interspersed throughout are bits of plastic and trash, rocks, and pieces of broken things, creating unexpected connection points. This show incorporates spatial awareness and object relationships to wonder what the edges can tell us,” says Krista Brand.
