June Roys is an artist, graphic designer, and instructor at Spokane Falls Community College. Artworks in the exhibition Travel are imbued with both personal and formal aspects which evolve through her relationship to color, light, and architectural elements. The Urban Travel series of photographs on view from September 21- October 20th, document the disappearing iconic neon signage of American roadways and is paired with the stubborn legacy of vintage bikes that have rolled down the roads for decades, rejecting plastics and technology, and influencing the design of modern bikes with their retro styles and simplicity.
