Opportunity: STA City Line designer RFQ

Aritistic Discipline: Cultural, Visual

Spokane Arts is requesting qualifications from designers interested in creating a cohesive set of designs of four standard elements to be included in upcoming City Line Stations for Spokane Transit Authority (STA). The City Line will include 33 new bus rapid transit stations, grouped into nine place-based “themes” including Browne’s Addition (5 stations), Center City Downtown (6 stations), and Logan (3 stations). (Find more details on each of the community-directed themes here.) One designer or design-team will be selected for each theme, and applicants may choose to apply for a selection of the nine themes or just one.

The designer or design team will be selected based on their submitted work samples from other completed projects and how those demonstrate design and execution of projects in related environments and media. Specific proposals are not requested and will not be reviewed at this time. Selected designers will work with Spokane Arts and the lead designer overseeing design development leading to a final set of specific deliverables ready for manufacturing. Designs will need to respond to the requirements of the place-based themes defined, and the existing color palette of STA City Line branding. Design Review Committees and STA will have a final say in the color palettes proposed by each of the designers/design teams. The selected designer for each theme is responsible for the delivery of fabrication drawings related to selected theme and required design elements per theme within the given project budget.

Details and application here. Submit qualifications by Friday, April 23, 2021.
